Gurukul Drona is a soft-skills institute in Ludhiana, teaching both online and in person. We work across public speaking, effective communication, confidence building, spoken English, train-the-trainers, leadership and team building, and interview and résumé preparation — helping everyone from eight-year-olds to top management speak with clarity, carry themselves with confidence, and make their words count.

Our story

Founded in 2010 by Narender Agarwal, a Master Facilitator in soft skills, Gurukul Drona has grown into one of the region's most trusted names in communication training. What began with public speaking now spans a full range of programmes — public speaking, spoken English and English grammar, interview and résumé skills, presentations and debates, Model United Nations and mock parliaments, anchoring, video-making, and running campus newsrooms and media.

Along the way we have impacted more than 100,000 people — school and college students, working professionals and leaders — and become a long-term partner to the schools, colleges and organisations that value our work and want communication built into how their people learn, speak and lead.

Every programme, online or in person, is built on a practical, forward-looking curriculum shaped around the real needs of each participant. Because we believe public speaking is not a gift a lucky few are born with — it is a skill, and like any skill it is built one rehearsal at a time.

The people behind Gurukul Drona

Narender Agarwal has spent close to two decades in the world of soft skills — a journey he began in 2007 and which led him to found Gurukul Drona in 2010. A Master Facilitator in soft skills and a Dale Carnegie certified Super Facilitator, he has had the privilege of training over 100,000 participants and of carrying his workshops to more than fifteen countries. His bond with the Round Table movement runs deep: a National Team Member (LAPD) for Round Table India, Round Table Nepal and Ladies Circle India, and an International Trainer at Round Table International’s RT University for three consecutive years, from 2020 to 2023. He is a member of 41ers India, IEC, the Freemasons, Round Table India and Round Table International, and partners with several organisations on interviews and HR hiring. Beyond the stage he is the Founder of Wealth1 (PMS and AIF investments), COO of INVasset PMS, former CEO of Luxury Ride, former Strategic Director at Cancer Healer Center, and a seasoned newsroom expert. Through all of it he remains, first and foremost, a teacher — most at home with a microphone in hand and a room full of people discovering their own voice.

Founder & Master Facilitator – Soft Skills

Disha Agarwal is a soft-skills facilitator who simply loves to speak — and to teach others to. She came up through Gurukul Drona herself, completing all three levels and excelling at each, and now leads online and in-person public-speaking workshops along with our Talkies Campus programme. Currently in her third year at Ashoka University, majoring in Political Science and Entrepreneurship, she is a Model UN expert who has held every role from delegate to chairperson to organising-committee member, attended over 100 MUNs — Harvard MUN among them — and trained more than 1,000 MUNers herself. At just fifteen she founded Towards Zero, rallying fifteen young changemakers from ten countries to the cause. Away from the stage she is an avid trekker; an actor with The Green Room, Ashoka’s theatre club, where she has been actor, director, scriptwriter, costume designer and stage manager; a keen filmmaker who has shot her own short films; and, quietly, a student of quant finance and long-term investing.

Soft Skills Facilitator

With a Master’s in Public Administration and a B.Ed behind her, Charu Agarwal has been a quiet pillar of Gurukul Drona — the one who builds the systems and processes that keep everything running smoothly. A specialist in spoken English and English grammar, she helps learners speak correctly and with confidence, and is happiest in the middle of a lively class, talking with students. An avid reader with a personal library she is rather proud of, she also has a soft spot for Korean dramas.

A learner at heart, Shreya Kataria came up through Gurukul Drona — completing all three levels — and now teaches here herself. An excellent speaker and orator who knows just how to hold a stage, she facilitates our Talkies Campus and public-speaking programmes, both online and in person. Alongside it all, she is currently preparing for her CA Foundation.

Kajal Sharma keeps Gurukul Drona running behind the scenes. From accounts and record-keeping to invoicing, scheduling, coordination and the day-to-day backend operations, she makes sure every workshop, enrolment and follow-up happens on time and without a hitch. Reliable and detail-minded, she is the quiet engine that lets the facilitators focus on the stage while everything else stays in perfect order.
